Illinois motorists in the Chicago area can now access Mobile Testing Units (MTUs), emissions‑testing vans that operate like one‑lane stations. Two MTUs rotate through multiple locations to provide convenient testing. All regular emissions services are available at MTUs, except damage‑claim inspections (those must be done at central stations).
In September, the MTUs will be making two stops in Johnsburg to assist local residents who need to complete their emissions testing.
Stop 1: Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the Johnsburg David G. Dominguez Municipal Center, located at 1515 Channel Beach Ave.
Stop 2: Monday, Sep 21, 2026, to Friday, September 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM at Johnsburg Hiller Park, located at 5500 Skyhawk Ln.
