Fox River Status Update

From the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (March 26, 2019):

Current Conditions: Measured inflows on the Fox River near New Munster, WI are 1980 cfs and dropping; flows on Nippersink Creek near Spring Grove are 339 cfs and dropping. Flows at Algonquin Dam Tailwater are 4180 cfs. The Fox Lake stage is 5.5 ft and the Stratton Dam Tailwater stage is 5.0 ft. The Fox River at the Algonquin Dam Tailwater stage is 9.9 ft.

Forecast: The National Weather Service (NWS) is predicting 1” to 1¼” of precipitation for the next 7 days in the Fox River watershed as shown on Figure 1. Most of the precipitation will take place Friday night through Sunday. It’s too early to get predicted inflows for Friday and Saturday.

System Conditions and Operations: All gates at Stratton Dam and Algonquin Dam are opened to pass as much flow as possible. Our estimates indicate that Fox Lake stage will be at 5’ and Stratton Dam tailwater stage will be at 4.5’ on Friday.
