The Illinois House Republican Platform to Reimagine Illinois asks residents to imagine a state that works for them. House Republicans have introduced more than 80 pieces of legislation as part of the Reimagine Illinois plan. These proposals focus on four key principles that will help make Illinois the best place to live, work, and raise a family. The platform is simple:
- Let’s adopt a model of disclosure for lawmakers that will expose conflicts of interest, ban General Assembly members from lobbying and end the culture of corruption in Illinois.
- Let’s take fiscal responsibility seriously, ensure we’re not spending more than we take in, and stop trying to raise taxes year-after-year.
- Let’s grow jobs and opportunities for Illinois families by encouraging investment across Illinois, establishing an apprenticeship education program, and eliminating overregulation and overly burdensome mandates
- Let’s make sure public safety officials are prepared for their positions, help recruit and retain the best and the brightest in law enforcement, and ensure every Illinois family has a neighborhood free of violence.
