State Representative Tom Weber recently received an award from the Technology & Manufacturing Association for his pro manufacturing voting record in the 102nd General Assembly.
The Technology & Manufacturing Association advocates for small and medium-size manufactures and has named Rep. Weber as one of its Champions over the last two years of legislative session.
“I’m honored to receive this recognition and will continue to fight for small and medium sized employers, which are vital to the foundation of our state’s economy,” Rep. Weber said. According to a recent study by the University of South Carolina, manufacturing has an important economic impact on the State of Illinois. When accounting for manufacturing’s direct employment as well as additional impacts from all economic multiplier effects, manufacturing supports nearly 30% of all jobs in Illinois.
“Illinois needs to help these employers, not make things more difficult for them, and by consequence, their employees. More legislators in Springfield need to consider the impact of their votes and their legislation on our overburdened small businesses.”
