Rep. Weber Says DCFS Overhaul Should Include More Local Involvement to Protect Children

As DCFS begins its search for a new permanent director, State Rep. Tom Weber says the department needs an overhaul that involves more direct involvement with local law enforcement when conducting abuse or neglect investigations. Weber is the sponsor of legislation, the AJ Freund Act (House Bill 3471), that would do that.
