Rep. Weber Takes Stand Against High Property Taxes

Speaking on the House floor, State Rep. Tom Weber called for action against drastic increases in property tax bills. While PTELL limits the total taxes a local government can levy in a given year to the lesser of 5 percent or the increase in CPI, nothing limits drastic increases on individual properties. To prevent drastic increases reportedly reaching as high as 50% in some cases, Weber is filing legislation to cap increases on individual tax bills.
