Rep. Weber Recognizes Local Police Chiefs at Emerging Women Leaders Conference

Yesterday, State Rep. Tom Weber had the honor of welcoming two dedicated local leaders to the Capitol for the annual Emerging Women Leaders Conference & Recognition Event in Springfield – Lake Villa Police Chief Rochelle Tisinai and Fox Lake Police Chief Dawn DeServi. Not only have both leaders risen through the ranks to become the Chief in their respective communities, but they both also grew up in the area and attended Antioch High School.

Following a recognition brunch with dozens of women leaders from across the state, the event included a day of programming designed to inspire and empower women leaders. The main program featured a panel discussion with Linda Renee Baker a professor from the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute, Illinois Supreme Court Justice Lisa Holder White, Susan Hayes Gordon with Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital and Decatur businesswoman Kara Demirjian Huss.

“There is nothing better than seeing people who are able to grow and give back to their communities in such an important way,” said Weber. “Thank you to Dawn and Rochelle for all the work you do to serve, protect and make a difference in our communities in District 64!”
