Rep. Weber Helps Secure Matching Grant for Centennial Park Improvements

The new year is bringing new grant funding for continued improvements to Antioch’s Centennial Park, State Representative Tom Weber has announced.

The $600,000 grant coming to Antioch has been awarded through the state’s Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) program that is administered by the Department of Natural Resources. Rep. Weber (R-Fox Lake) contacted the Department in strong support of the Centennial Park grant application, calling it a great investment in our local families.

“I am pleased to see our tax dollars returning here to benefit all our residents in the community. I was happy to support the grant request through the Dept of Commerce and Economic Opportunity;” Rep. Weber said.

According to village officials, the Centennial Park “revitalization” will get underway in 2026. The matching grant funding will help the village update park facilities including the trails and tennis courts, improve accessibility to park amenities, and construct a new park shelter, among other improvements.

“Activities in the park help bring communities together, and that’s money well spent,” Rep. Weber concluded.
