Last week, I joined homeschool families in vocalizing our opposition toward the Homeschool, which would add undue burdens on homeschool families here in Illinois.
I had the chance to speak with one of the wonderful families in attendance and hear what they had to say regarding the negative impacts that HB 2827 would have if passed. They noted, like many others, that this legislation is an act of government overreach and adds uncertainty for homeschool administrators. These administrators and their students should not face more scrutiny for learning in a way that works best for them.
Thank you to everybody who came to express their opposition to the Homeschool Act last week. While this bill may have passed out of committee, your presence was impactful and there is still work to be done!
