After House Republicans requested to hear how IHSA would amend their policy to fall in line with the President’s order protecting women and girls from having to compete against biological males in sports.
As you’ll see below, IHSA’s response is shocking and downright wrong. Fair competition and the safety for our children are not up for debate. Policies that protect same-sex sports and locker rooms have to align with federal policy to protect the integrity of athletics and the well-being of student-athletes.
My colleagues and I will continue to legislate on behalf of all female athletes in Illinois and demand that the IHSA take action. I’ll share more with you all on how we are addressing this issue next week.
