To celebrate the United States of America’s semiquincentennial, State Representative Tom Weber (R-Lake Villa) is inviting constituents of the 64th House District to show off their patriotic spirit by participating in his America 250 Photo Contest. The contest is open to adults and students.
“As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, I hope you’ll join me in showing off your patriotic spirit through this special photo contest,” said Weber. “Illinois has played an instrumental role in America’s story, and I look forward to seeing all the ways our communities are marking this incredible milestone.”
To participate in the photo contest, take a photo of yourself, your home, or your community displaying your patriotic spirit. This could include photos dressed in red, white, and blue, or photos of patriotic decorations at your home or in your community during America 250 celebrations.
Photos should be submitted to Rep. Weber’s office via email to [email protected] with the email titled: America 250 Photo Contest. Submissions must include: First Name, Last Name, Mailing Address, Email Address, and Phone Number. Student submissions should also include the name and contact information for a parent or guardian. The submission deadline is July 30.
Four winners will be selected to have their photos framed and displayed in Rep. Weber’s office and on his website. Two winning photos will be selected for adults 18 and older, and two winning photos will be selected for students K-12. For more information about the contest, Rep. Weber or the 64th House District, call 847-629-5439.
