Weber Given Champion of Free Enterprise Award

In August, State Representative Tom Weber was named one of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce’s Champions of Free Enterprise. While in Springfield for veto session this week, Rep. Weber was formally handed the award from the Chamber’s Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, Clark Kaericher.

The award is given biennially after the Illinois Chamber of Commerce rates all 177 members of the 102nd General Assembly based on their votes on key business legislation. The Champion of Free Enterprise Awards are given to members with Illinois Chamber ratings averaging 85 percent or higher over the previous two General Assemblies who have demonstrated their commitment to legislation that frees the entrepreneurial spirit and encourages business growth in Illinois.
